The fish were few and far between for my DAV at Soldier Creek/Strawberry, so I was determined to make it right. Alan hadn't caught many fish before and I figured that I had a great chance of changing that if I took him to Utah Lake and chased the channel cats. Ended up that I figured right.
Rounded up Rocky (he joined me at the DAV event) and off we headed to Utah Lake State Park. We tried several places with limited success (a cat or two and a 1/2 dozen white bass), until our last stop. Finally, we found where the cats were hiding and the catching was steady and at times downright fast until we headed home around 12:30 P.M.
