Make sure that line stays tight if you get a windy day the prop will come around and cut the cord. but that looks better than what Min kota shows you to do.
the way they show you how to do it will not work. you forget one time to keep the line tight and it will get cut.
I have a new 2017 Minn Kota TERROVA and you can't run the cord up inside (unless you do some cutting) the shaft like they did with the older Terrovas.

Great idea. I have exactly the same problem with the transducer cable on my powerdrive trolling motor. I'll give it a try.
