CJ Strike Float Tubing - Haiwee - 01-26-2016
So I'm planning a trip this spring to try CJ bass fishing. Is this lake good for float tubing, or should I bring my boat? I'm coming all the way from the Vegas area, so I'd prefer to not have to haul my boat all that way. Thanks!

there's limited access for tubes in the good areas for small mouth. there's a road that can get you to the southeast end of the narrows that would put you in some good spots, but expect lots of boat wakes. if the perch are on like last year, you can tube right out of the air force marina, just follow the crowd.

Always pretty friendly, lots of boats and the wind can come up in a hurry and blow you into the tuleys.

You will be just fine with a float tube, in the spring time. The access in the cottonwoods or even around cove rec will produce nice smallies in the spring.
But as mentioned, you will have to contend with boat wakes and the wind.

Thanks for the info everyone. Looks like float tubing it is. This is my first foray into Idaho since moving to the the Vegas area two years ago. Think I'll stop at Wild Horse in northern NV on the way back.

I would seriously consider Mt. View over Wildhorse. It has consistently been outproducing Wildhorse. Nice rainbows between 16 and 21", with a few even larger. Mike
