Catfish Spot - Bgoomba - 08-31-2015 Hello, Still thinking about finding a place for catching some catfish with my daughter. Looking for a suggestion or 2 for a decent location along the snake river. I have gotten some very general advice but nothing overly specific. If I had more time I would do some scouting. I have had some success with trout finally. Took some advice from a co-worker and went to one of his better spots. The big problem is its a difficult location for me because I am not in very good shape. Last time there, my daughter caught a really nice 15 inch rainbow and we had multiple strikes. The problem is I think I almost killed myself climbing up out of the canyon. Daughter wants to go back though so I will have to start exercising more I think ![]() [signature] Re: [Bgoomba] Catfish Spot - Bardic - 09-01-2015 A simple place and easy to get to is to go down to Swan Falls. They have a path across the dam to get to the other side of the Snake and you can turn right and head below the dam. Brownlee is also decent, but it is a much longer drive. I still like Lowell but I haven't caught any catfish there yet other than little 5" babies. [signature] Re: [Bardic] Catfish Spot - Bgoomba - 09-02-2015 How far down river from the dam do you go? You may not need to cross at all. If the overflows of the dam are all closed it will all be calm water with carp jumping everywhere. Then you may have to go down where it narrows and the water is moving. If you don't cross over you can just drive down the river on a dirt road and stop off any place that looks good. [signature] |
