Fiberglass expert needed - mlyonsden - 06-30-2015

My buddy and I were getting his boat ready last week and noticed multiple stress cracks on the hull. Large enough to leak into the boat. My buddy is looking for a specialist in fixing the hull but not costing a fortune. Any suggestions?

If they aren't big and he is handy he can fix it himself. It is quite easy. If not there is a place on redwood road in woods cross that repairs fiberglass boats.

My suggestion is good luck. A couple months back I attempted to find the same thing and they all were expensive.

There are several actually. I watched several to get the knowledge needed to do my repair and it worked out nicely.

Try these guys in Ogden if they're still around. Shawn Cain at Bent Connection. 1182 W. 3050 S. 801-393-8967 or 801-791-8441. They did some work on my 1976 Invader Tri-Hull a few years back that turned out well. Good luck.

Over the years I have repaired several boats using fiberglass repair kits. Recently I repaired a crack using fiberglass cloth and resin purchased at Home Depot. Just follow the directions and give it a try.

You can do it. I jus removed all the fiber glass on my deck and replaced the rottin wood. Never done it before. It was not fun missed the fishin for 3 weeks but it was worth it.
