Big Cottonwood Quickie - harlin - 10-15-2014

I thought I'd sneak away to do some weekday fly fishing, so I went up to Big Cottonwood Creek for a couple hours.

I started with a renegade, and got a few hits from brookies, but they couldn't fit the fly in their mouth. I opted for a smaller mosquito, and it worked for a couple browns.

Tried a few other spots, but didn't catch anything from them. It was nice to get a weekday fix!

Always a good time up big c... Do you ever fish the slower water in the bushes just below brighton? I always drive past it and have never fished it...

I have fished it on the past, I think it gets hit a lot, a little further down stream has some less pressured areas, I think Little Cottonwood has slightly bigger fish, but I haven't fished either in years so I may be up in the night.

Makes sense, I seem to do pretty well when i find the slower pocket water. I may have to try little cottonwood next time.
