That was pulled in from shore? Nice! I will be doing some pier fishing this next week (well that is the plan anyway[sly]) so I hope to have some new species to add to my every growing log of fish caught.

good luck! this is a freshwater fish that looks kinda like the sheepsehead. Zebra Tilapia.. excellent eating

Definitely a strange looking one. If I hook into any of the fish next week my difficulty will be identification due to the vast amount of rockfish shown in the regs.[:/] It will be an interesting week any way

We have some cool nicknames for most of the Rockfish and several other species that we catch in the Big Salty. I can teach you some of them when you come out here.
