Got info from Stripercraze a 40 pounder was caught on Saturday 8-24-13. It was on a guide boat jigging spoons in the Vegas Wash.

I know him, his name is Mark Eddison and it was in the 30# range, he has caught 2 over 30# in the last week in 200ft of water jigging a spinnow in pink color. They were in Cape fear just past sand Island.

Mark is a good guy , He don't need to make up stories of big fish , I doubt that he even put the fish on a scale , he has caught so many big stripers in his day .

Mark is a great fisherman and has caught a bunch of big fish. It is weird to me that you are questioning his catch. If I recall the brown trout that you caught at cave lake was 7 pounds on one site, 10 pounds on another site and at best was 4-5 pounds!!!! It was a great catch for sure but why different weights for different forums???? You could probably learn a thing or 2 if you hired Captain Mark, then you would have many more fish to EAT...... There is a picture down at laker plaza. I stopped in for some corn on the way out Friday night and they had it tapped to the counter. It caught my attention because fo the date on the picture. Seems legit, pretty big fish but i agree a rare catch this time of year.

I'm no expert with big stripers but, I would imagine they would still feed from time to time throughout summer. people catch big stripers throughout the year down on Mohave, why not Mead? just sayin..[fishon]

And it says he got it in 200 ft of water. that's where the big fish are in the cold water with more oxygen. the warmer the water the less oxygen it contains...
