Fly rod maiden voyage - Cotton_Released - 08-25-2010

I took my new Sage Flight 7'6 4 weight out last night to a small creek in Southeast Idaho. I only was able to fish for an hour but in that hour I had a blast. I was very impressed with the Flight and with the Sharkskin line.

All in all, I caught four 11-12" rainbows, one 12" cutt, and then surprisingly, a 17" rainbow. I released one bow and the cutt but cooked two of the small bows on the creek and brought an 11" bow and the 17" bow home for the family.

All in all, it was a very fun evening. All of the small creeks that I've fished lately have been great fishing. [cool]

Trout Taper. After using it last night, I'm considering swapping out the Rio Gold on my 6 weight now Smile

The GPX is 1/2 weight heavier front taper..it would be awesome on the six weight (I know from experience...LOL) I agree with the Trout on the four however.
Nice trout. Where you dry, nymph, both?

Thanks! I'll remember your advice when I can muster up another benjamin for some line for the 6 weight [cool]

All of the fish I caught were on a #14 Renegade fished dry and a 6x tippet.
