Not a bite in sight - Simp - 07-15-2010

So I've been going fishing every single morning between 6 and 6:30. There hasn't been so much as a single strike. I've fished the local lake and a little creek (where I actually saw a bass in the water), I'm throwing an array of lures, but nothing's happening. Hints? Suggestions? 100lb test noose?

Have you tried topwater yet? Good choice for the morning. Dog days of summer are never easy.

morning and late eve try topwater. Everything in between fish soft plastics real slow. My fave is a wacky senko. It falls real slow and seems to get inactive bass to bite.

Don't have any senkos, might try a wacky trick worm. As far as topwater goes, what kinda lures you guys thinkin?

Any stick worm will work. Just rig i wacky so it falls nice and slow and gives off that pulsing motion.

Ironically, after posting this thread, I was out last night about 8pm and my first cast I got a little tike on a junebug trickworm shaky head rig. Soon after that lightning ran me off.

When we fish two to a boat in the summer, one of us will have a wacky rig set up. It does work from time to time. 4" sencos seem to work best. Simp, spend the $5.00 for them. [Wink]

Oh absolutely, I've used them with some success as well. When I posted that response, I was forcing myself not to use my credit card for ANYTHING BUT GAS, and I didn't have any cash available.

Got a 2008 Dodge Ram SXT a couple of months ago, and the 3.7L V6 is a change in mpg than my 2.2L 4cyl S10 was, so I have to budget a little better. But I think you BFT guys would be happy to know that the second sticker I put on my new behemoth was a Big Fish Tackle sticker (Second only to the Alabama Crimson Tide sticker--ROLL TIDE!)
