Just a favor to Ask - mike_peterson - 04-03-2010
Just got back from my grandma's funeral today and what a lady she was. My grandma was one of the greatest inspiration in my life. The reason I'm posting this is because she was one of the people who caused my love for fishing (besides my dad). When I was little and there weren't enough poles for me she would get a stick tie some line on it and throw on a hook and worm and would make sure I caught a fish. She was a great lady and she will be missed.
She was a outdoors lady who loved camping, golfing, hiking, exploring, family, and fishing...
So the favor I ask from anyone who is willing... The next time your out and reel in that fish. Remember who taught you how to fish and give that fish a kiss for them. Thats how I'm gonna honor my grandma. It may sound cheesy but if you knew her like I did, you would understand.

My Condolences She sound like a wonderful person.
My Father getting up into his 70's and he is not mobile as he once was but when we were younger he would take us fishing every and any chance he had He always pack my sister and I in old chevy silerado and head to strawberry. Amazed me how he could catch a fish out of a puddle being a kid then I never really understood the passion he had for the outdoors & fishing being older now I cant imagine a life with out it.

My condolences. I know how you feel. I lost my Dad in 1995. He is the one who taught me so many years ago. He was only 55.[:/]

You have my condolences. I lost the Grandpa that taught me the love of the outdoors way back in 1959 but he's still with me. He told me once that one is never really gone so long as even one person remembers them. Hang on to those good memories.

Great post. I lost my Grandma and my wife's Uncle this yearc. My Grandpa I lost in 1976 unfortunately. He and my Grandma were my fishing buddies and I miss them. Your post sure brought back some good memories, thanks for posting it.
