This trick seems to entice a strike more than a plain bag . I can't find it anymore but there was a spawn die , fluorescent/neon green in color that I would mix in a spray bottle and color my waxies with , the steelhead would slam em' . Food coloring won't work . When I go up, I am there for several days. one thing I found that can help is a pinch of cobly cheese in the spawn bag. any kind of milk not their own can make the salmon mad enough to strike.
