I really hate Jan, Feb, March. Duck season is over, really good fishing doesn't start for a couple of weeks. It's my bad time of year. I usually spend lots of money in these months, compared to the rest of the year. Boats, new trucks, toys...etc. Boredom, really.
So this year I vowed not to buy any new toys. RIGHT!, but I did better... the toys, were much, much smaller this year.
Was bored one day and put this together.

So Cool! You've got a lot more ambition than I have and a lot more mechanical and artistic ability. Maybe if you get really bored, you can make another one and perhaps we can trade something for it or perhaps I can make a loan from my old woman and buy one from you.
But I really suspect that with the advent of open waters, you'll be out of spare time and be fishing.

I take it you used the inner oval from the lower outside lip to make the top piece with?

yes. the wood was actaully left over peieces from 2 poker tables. centers were cut out and this was the left over.
