Rigging a sonar in a box - FSBO_SLAYER - 01-05-2010

I purchased a Humminbird 565 and have been looking for the best ways to rig it up in a box with a battery for use on the ice. Any suggestions on how you've done it? Thanks.

Here are some pics of my brothers Out4aFloat's. Mine is set up the same way I just don't have any pics of it. A small hole in the lid of the cooler lets the cord for the battery be in the box with the battery.

Thanks for the pics. Do you ever worry about damaging the unit during transport with it exposed like that?

I pop mine off the base and keep it in extra clothes until its time to pull the sled out on the ice. From there it has always been fine. You can turn the screen light on to help keep it a little warmer on the really cold days. Drop a hand warmer or two in the cooler and the battery stays fine too.

Here is a link to a thread that Tubedude did with his. I copied him almost to the letter. It worked out great.
