ice fished american falls for the first time yesterday it was deader than anna nicole smith on a sunday morning! seriously bunch of little bights when we finally hooked one they were little two inch perch. however at the end of the day right around 4 ish my buddy hooked a rainbow that would have been pushing 6 lbs i got down to try and get it out of the hole for him and just as he got its head to come into the hole pow 4lb test line snapped and left his favorite jig still stuck in the mouth of that toad he was crushed! it was a dandy.

I was able to try it this weekend also. I went to the same spot that I killed them before and was skunked on perch and landed a couple of slimers that were not worth keeping. My father caught a couple perch similar to what you describe.
I am hoping for a Twin Lakes report that shows some perch activity or else we may be limited to those 4 - 7" units at Roberts Gravel Pond.

Point well taken.
I did share the information with the folks that PM'd me but it was not enough, soon enough, to track the school of big ones.
If I find them at Twin Lakes I will be more free with the information. The area at A.F. was kind of small (believe it or not) and I was worried about the power of the internet. I am also concerned about whether a certain reporter from Idaho Falls still remains inclined to print information from this forum in the newspaper.

Thanks for all and any info on fishin anywheres. I tried to go to Salmon Sat. but the snow was blowing the set of tracks shut as I tried to decide if I wanted to get stuck or just come back on another day. Might have to get the snomobile fired up. Heard there was 8" of ice but not sure about which bay or if anything was caught.
