So, I just found out that there are Burbot in Clark Canyon Reservoir outside of Dillan Montana. I have wanted to catch a Burbot for a few years now. Has anybody ever ice fished for them there, or know what to use, when to go, where to go etc.?

Yep, people also call them ling or lincod, but they're different than the ocean lincod. They have been on my "fish I want to catch" list for years now. They aren't pretty but they are supposed to taste really good.

I have not visited the Idaho Forum in a year or so. I sure has become more active since the last time I checked. Well done all!
I have fished for Ling on Clark canyon. I am originally from Rexburg and we used to go up to catch trout. My brother in law accidentally caught one and when he tried to take it off the hook it wrapped its body around his arm. It was very very funny . . . maybe you had to be there. After that trip, we used to use trout livers. Fish them near the bottom. Good luck.

That's cool! They sound like pretty cool fish. What were your catch rates once you started fishing for them, and what kinds of sizes did you catch?

It has been more than ten years since I fished there, so things are not unlikely to have changed, but we caught quite a few.
