Project Fish 4-H related - davetclown - 02-19-2008 Sent: Tuesday, February 12, 2008 9:28 AM To: volunteers@projectfish.org Subject: Catching up Hello Everyone, Just catching up ...... Project FISH Workshop will be happening on March 4 & 5. Here is the website link www.projectfish.org/anrweek.pdf . Please get some folks to attend from you area and increase the opportunities for kids in your community. I am looking for whole fish for this workshop so we can fillet/dissect and eat as we always do so if you are out and can catch a few to freeze before then think of us. This weekend is Free Fishing Weekend which doesn't mean that you shouldn't or can't buy a license, it just means that you can fish without one if you choose. We always suggest purchasing a license even for the kids under 17 as they are counted federally as a license, and the DNR gets an allocation back of over $8.00 even for that $2.00 youth volunteer license. It is also good stewardship to purchase a license, to utilize the resource so it is quality now and later. Be SURE to be safe on the ice. Wear a PFD for warmth. Keep an eye out for an upcoming community grant from the National Recreation and Parks Association for sportfishing and boating. This is a great start up grant for a program in association with your community parks system. Remember to let me know what you are doing in your community, class, club, etc as we can use that as fuel to keep this project FISH thing going. You can post things to the calendar by scrolling to the bottom of the Events page, click on the hammer, type teach for the username and kids for the password. It's very simple from there. That's it for now. Keep up the great work and go visit the Sportshows coming up!!
