is there a correct place for Oars? - Thudpucker - 12-28-2007 I have a 12' Aluminum skiff I've been using for fly fishing in lakes. ![]() I want to put the oars in the correct place for me. Right now its setup for a smaller person. What I want to know is this: Is there a correct place for Oars? Is there documentation to guide me? before I go hacking around in there making changes, there may be some do's n' Dont's that might help me out? I know what to do in my hackable way. I was wondering if there was some evidence of what the Mfg. used as a pattern or a matter of boating assn. practice. When the weather warms up a little I'll have the process underway. I rowed two miles up a lake and back. On the way I went into every little place that looked fishey. I trolled with the oars in one place and caught a small Bass on a small Clouser. One fish! I was worn out because the oars are in the wrong place. The Doc says it's good exercize. He wants me to do a half hour at a time. I dont want to pass up all those fishing spots. So we comprimized. I row a bit and fish a bit. When I row, I row like Heck, and when I fish, I have a good time. [signature] |
