Washing/waxing aluminum boats? - jackfisher - 08-08-2007 I have a 19' aluminum crestliner deep v with a 140 hp merc. The boat is a little older but a gem! I was just wondering what you all do as far as maintaining the hull of the boat? Do you wash, wax buff etc. What reccomendations do you have? I have heard that you can really increase the performance of your boat by maintaining the hull? Your expertise and help is appreciated. I have had my boat for seven years - the only substance I use on it is white vinegar - it's run $2 a gallon and removes water stains and does not leave a film. I also bought two cheap spray bottles to apply the vinegar. I wipe the boat down about three times a year and sometimes have to use some other cleaners (409, Dawn) to get rid of road tar, etc. Give it a try - it's cheap & it works!!! [signature] |
