New Colorado record cutbow! - DonInDenver - 07-23-2007

Antero Reservoir gave up a new state record cutbow on its opening day to Lakewood angler Frank Stack. The pig weighed 18 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 28" long with a 24" girth.

Congratulations Frank!

You definitely should! Friends who have been there have had world class fishing. Fly guys have been doing well on damsel nymphs, callibaetis nymphs, BWOs, hares ears and wooly buggers. Spin fishermen getting lots of fish on Kastmasters, Thomas Bouyants and other assorted hardware.

The only big downside I have heard of is a lot of fish being killed by poor handling and being played too long. Use reasonably heavy tippet and get them in quickly and release them carefully. Fuorocarbon tippets of 4X and even 3x are not too heavy.

And please report back if you go!
