River Smallies - leaky - 07-06-2007 I know, I'm, from Ut., I can only try, right? My only credentials are - I've paid my dues by now, and maybe -------------- ? Here's the deal - My first love is river smallies.[ ![]() I digress - What I'm trying to do is find an area for us that isn't so far and hard on me. I'm an old fart now and I don't know how much longer I can do it. [ ![]() Leaky Re: [leaky] River Smallies - idahopanfish - 07-07-2007 I have heard that Milner Res. is producing well. I guess they start at the golf cource and go up or down river. [signature] Re: [leaky] River Smallies - mbright - 07-07-2007 Milner Rsr should be a good place for you. 1. Nice SMB fishery 2. Staight route, take I84, actually shorter driving time than AFR. 3. Tube works well there, current not as fast as Massacre. 4. Plenty of space for your Sparky to wonder around. Don't forget to put your report on later if you hit there. [signature] Re: [mbright] River Smallies - leaky - 07-07-2007 Thanks guys. Are ya talking any paticular are of the Res., or possibly up river, down river? Sounds like I nee to give it a try. Leaky Re: [leaky] River Smallies - mbright - 07-07-2007 There are several river access spots there: called Bass Point, Bass Bay, Trout Point and the boat doc. You can find the sign at the entrance. (The main entrance is in west of city Burley. Take 30 and turn north, then couple of miles on unpaved road. It took me some time to find the place for the first time). I personally like the Bass Bay and boat doc. You can float your tube up river a little bit and work around the rocky shore line. Good luck. The current picks up later in the day and sometimes the water will drop a foot or so. So AM is the best time to fish. Good luck. [signature] |
