Magnetic control on the side of a reel? - Jay_In_Parker - 04-02-2007 Can anyone tell me what this does? Ive had 2 reels with it and have yet to figure out what it does. It has a dial(not the cast control and not the drag)on the left side that turns 360 with a + and -. Hope I'm making this clear? -Jay [signature] Re: [Jay_In_Parker] MAGNETIC CONTROL ON THE SIDE OF A REEL? - DonInDenver - 04-02-2007 It's a cast control "magnetic braking system" to lessen the likelihood of backlash, also known as "professional overrun ". Notice I said "lessen the likelihood", not "prevent". Tutn it toward + and it applies more brake, and toward - gives less brake. Nice to see you over here! Nice reel, works well... for left or right handed fisherman.... [signature] |
