Recreational harvest of red, black and gag grouper in Gulf of Mexico federal waters is prohibited Feb. 15 - March 15. Federal waters begin 9 nautical miles offshore of Florida in the Gulf.
Anglers may continue to take legal bag limits of red, black and gag grouper in state waters, within 9 nautical miles of shore, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
