Lake LBJ & Canyon Lake Guide Report - JimF - 12-06-2006 Lake LBJ: Water clear; 59 degrees; 824.88': Largemouth are good around stumps and laydowns on break-lines in 5'-14' and in brushpiles under docks pitching watermelon-red Big Pig creature baits, watermelon Ring Worms, 1/4 oz. black/blue Terminator Pro Series jigs w/craw trailers and Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps. White Bass fair but small at first light in main channels trolling Shad Raps and casting/jigging Tiny Traps or Road Runners to surfacing schools. Crappie are fair in 8'-12' on Curb's crappie jigs and small crankbaits. Call (830) 833-5688 or email jimfiles@moment.net. __________________________________________________________ Canyon Lake: Water clear; 60 degrees; 901.70': Largemouth are fair to good to 5 lbs. in 10'-15' along transition spot on bluffs and dropoffs of sloping points with brushpiles using Texas rigged watermelon/red Gambler paddle tail worms, wacky rigged chartreuse Whacky Sticks. 4" pumpkin/blue line Robo worms on "shaky head" jigheads and 3/16 oz. Terminator finesse jigs w/pork trailers and white, suspending crankbaits. Smallmouth are good in 8'-15' along mainlake points and bluff ledges using pumpkin Devil's Tongues w/chartreuse tails on drop shots and smoke/red flake tubes on 1/8 oz. jigheads. Stripers are fair and improving along river channels and mainlake humps vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, white bucktail jigs and trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers or lead-line. White Bass are slow. Crappie are fair on white Curb's crappie jigs and minnows. Catfish very slow.
