Hello all,

I wanted to take a second to introduce myself and say thanks for some great info. I decided to join the site after a couple of weeks of checking the forums and seeing great fishing info and comraderie. I am in the Air Force on active duty, currently stationed at Mt. Home. The wife and I love it, particularly for the fishing. I dont currently have a boat but you can often find me in my tube at CJ Strike. I recently made a trip to Anderson Ranch with a friend in his brand new boat and had some luck using tips from PackFan and Kodiak. Brought home my first 11 kokanee and they sure smoked up well. The bass and perch are biting at CJ, I plan to head back down this afternoon to see what will bite. Thanks again for all the great stories and I look forward to passing on some of my own.

Welcome Digdug73, I spent two tours at Mt. Home AFB myself, great country. You can find something to hunt or fish in almost any direction. If you ever get interested in fishing in Utah near Hill AFB give me a post on the Utah site we are always jawing about something. It is probably one of the most active BFT sites. I guess maybe we just have alot of hot air or fish stories to tell. Anyway welcome again. And let me know how the Perch jerking goes at Strike.[cool]

I havent fished the dunes since the spring. I went twice in May and caught about a dozen largemouth each day on plastic worms wither texas rigged or carolina rigged in the middle. I bet the lakes are getting pretty weedy now.

I actually just posted a request on the Utah forum. I am going to Heber Valley in August for a family camping trip and wanted some info on the lakes and streams in that area. The map shows dozens of promising lakes in close proximity but I wont have time to do a lot of driving. We are camping just below lake jordanelle.

Jordanelle has some great Smallmouth Fishing, big bass but you have to release everything over 12 inches. They also have plenty of Slime Rockets as well. Down the road a few miles is Deer Creek. Trout, bass, perch and Walleye. The Infamous Strawberry is about 40 miles or so South of there also. Lots of places to wet a line.[Smile]

Hi there, Wow, I grew up in Glenn's Ferry and spent a lot of time in Mt. Home, ID. STURGEON! The snake was my back yard and it was GREAT!
You say you are going to be in Heber around August, don't forget the Uinta's. Beat the heat! But, you got rivers all around you in Heber along with stillwaters that have already been mentioned (Jordenelle also has huge Brown).
I guide occassionally on the Provo, maybe I will see you there.

Welcome to the Idaho Board Digdug73. Good to have another member aboard.

Joni .... I hadn't heard of the big Browns in Jordenelle. I guess I better check out the Utah archives.

I tried to find the picture of the brown taken at ice off by the mouth of the Provo (Rock Cliff area) this year. A gentleman off of another forum caught a monster.
