Sand shoal in Saybrook - gdn443 - 07-09-2006 Headed out in the river at 6 and trolled for stripers down to the mouth. The seas where so flat I took a run out to the shoal to drag some plugs, spoons,T&W, unbrella rig. Caught it at 1 1/2 hrs before slack and just hung in there till 12, when the roollers started. Did manage a blue on a plug and two hits that ate most of my swim bait trailer on the umbrella rig and bit off all of a 18" eel except the last 1/2' by the hook on the T&W.
