CHICKAMAUGA LAKE - daymere - 03-21-2006 Crappie fishing has improved significantly. Crappie are being caught in the main creeks, near brush, while using minnows and jigs. Slow-trolling 1/32nd & 1/16th oz. tube jigs is an excellent method. Bass are being caught on jigs and small crank baits in the main creeks and along the river banks. Beneath the dam smallmouth fishing has been good, although they seem to be "on" one day and "off" the next. A lot of bluegill are being caught along the bottom while fishing for crappie.
