Striped Bass Stocking Informational Meetings - FishNews - 04-21-2005 The Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) of DNR invites the public to learn more about the proposed actions and provide feedback. West Point Reservoir The West Point stocking proposal deals with striped bass management issues. A West Point Lake public information open house will be held at the following location: Date: January 20, 2005 Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Location: LaGrange Chamber of Commerce office 111 Bull Street LaGrange GA 30241 Map link WRD Fisheries staff and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff will be on hand. For more information call 706-845-4180 Altamaha River Basin Lakes (lakes Jackson, Oconee and Sinclair, and smaller lakes such as High Falls and Tobesofkee) The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) currently stocks hybrid striped bass into all of these lakes and is proposing the stocking of striped bass in these reservoirs. Anglers and other users of these lakes will have a chance to comment on this proposed action at an open house style meeting: Date: Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Location: Milledgeville at the Georgia Power Company Plant Harlee Branch facility WRD biologists will be available to explain the proposal in more detail, answer questions, and gather comments and suggestions from anglers.
