Went out on the 3/4 day open-party boat Premier today. Really lite load of 20 or so. Nie 5~6 inch sardines for hook bait with pinheads for chum.
Bonito were wide open all day..... some going to 3 or 4 pounds! Calicos, Bonito, Sheephead, and Whitefish were what filled the bags with a nice ling (mine[cool] short[
] released[
]), almost-legal halibut, lots of sculpin and very few short bass. Although it's technically Fall, the fishing has turned to Winter fishing. We'll soon see the boats changing over to their Winter schedules.
I'll do a survey report on schedules when enough landings are actually ramping up for it.
