Fishing locally in denver.. - doz - 03-11-2004 Hi.. First time on the board, pretty cool ... I was curious about fishing locally in denver and surrounding areas.. Im from las vegas and ive always fished lake mead (stripers primarily) so Im not really knowledgable about fishing here in the mountains ;/ Ive fished a couple streams around aspen georgetown and fished @ Washington Park (smith lake, dont laff).. Not alot of luck.. Caught 1 largemouth of out wash park.. But im really curious where I can catch some more largemouth. I dont have a float tube as of yet, which im sure i need. Just need to catch some fish, and not these tiny stream trout! Any advice would be appreciated And im willing to catch ANY fish, even carp from the shore! Some of my favorites are Sawhill Ponds, South Platte Park Ponds, and Chatfield Ponds. There are a bunch more ponds around town that have good populations of bass, just do some exploring. I have written some articles on Sawhill and South Platte ponds on my website, here are the links. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!
