Willard 4-30 - 2knots - 05-01-2024 Meet Ira with his boat and Dave at the south marina this am, we were greeted with a pretty stiff wind from the northeast that sent a couple others back home. It looked like it was laying down so decided to give it a go after seeing 2 others work out into the big water. We headed for the Freeway area hoping to get a little more relief from the breeze which was the case. Water temp was 56 when we dropped the bottom bouncers in and started working the area. Ira as normal, put a couple of eyes in the box right off before Dave or I started getting any attention, could of been that his green and black spinner was the hot ticket until later when the fire tiger started producing. We kept working areas and ended the day with 13 eyes with the biggest just at 20”s. Water temp when we got off was 58. Dave found a tough snag that broke his line before it broke the surface but a while later Ira recovered 1/2 of someone’s spinning rod. RE: Willard 4-30 - BearLakeFishGuy - 05-02-2024 Were you running planer boards? Or just long lines with your bottom bouncers? No we weren’t running “boards”, 2 oz weight/bottom bouncer about 38’ of line out in 19-20’ of water |
