[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#000000][size 2]ALEXANDRIA, VA—The BoatU.S. Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water awarded more than $45,000 in grants to nonprofit groups that spread the message about safe boating practices. To encourage excellence in grant implementation, these groups will be eligible for a new honor, the Boating Safety Outreach Award, which will be awarded to the group that "completes the most innovative, resourceful and effective grant project."[/size][/#000000][/font]
[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#000000][size 2]The BoatU.S. Foundation says it received more than 114 applications for its 2004 Boating Safety Grant cycle. Of these, 25 groups from Alabama to Washington were selected to receive grants.[/size][/#000000][/font]
